The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) launched its own podcast to debunk myths about the work of the agency. CIA director William Burns became the guest of the first issue.
According to him, intelligence services should collect secrets, keep them, and not reveal them. However, Burns explained, “in our democracy, where trust in institutions is in short supply, it’s important to try to explain as much as possible who we are and to demystify a little what we do.”
Burns said he loves spy movies, TASS reports. At the same time, he noted that in reality the work of the intelligence services is very different from what is shown in the movies. The head of the CIA also admitted that he is far from the image of a Hollywood superspy, and his wife and daughter constantly make fun of him because of this.
