Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that, together with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, he developed an operation plan to send a CSTO peacekeeping contingent to Kazakhstan. This was reported by the BelTA agency on Saturday.
“I will say more, without boasting. This whole operation, down to the details, was developed by two presidents – Russia and Belarus – within one hour. A plan was outlined, the Ministry of Defense under the leadership [министра обороны РФ Сергея] Shoigu and [главы Минобороны Белоруссии Виктора] Khrenin detailed the plan of the two presidents at the general staffs, and in a few hours the first planes flew to Kazakhstan. Everything was done quickly and decisively, without hesitation,” he said at a meeting with Belarusian peacekeepers who arrived from Kazakhstan.
