The digital premiere of the military-historical blockbuster “Devyatayev” by Timur Bekmambetov and Sergei Trofimov with Pavel Priluchny in the title role will take place at the KION online cinema on June 10. This was announced today by the press service of the online cinema. Recall that the film was produced by Bazelevs, MTS Media, Voenfilm, as well as the Russia 1 TV channel. The main character of the film is fighter pilot Mikhail Devyatayev, who served in the ranks of the Soviet army during the Great Patriotic War. During the Soviet offensive in the summer of 1944, his plane was shot down by the Germans, and Mikhail himself was captured. He was offered a choice – to return to the controls of the plane, but fight on the side of the Germans, or go to a concentration camp located on the island of Usedom. Mikhail found himself at a top-secret German training ground, where the Germans tested the latest “retaliation weapon” of the Third Reich – ballistic missiles “V-2”. The pilot made an escape plan …

The script of the film is based on real historical events that took place in February 1945. Pilot Devyatayev hijacked a Heinkel bomber from an airfield on Usedom Island in the Baltic Sea. 12 years after these events, in 1957, Mikhail Devyatayev was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, and the rest of the escapees were awarded orders (some of them posthumously).

The script is based on Devyatayev’s autobiographical book “Escape from Hell”. The project consultant is Alexander, the son of the famous pilot. The main role was played by the actor Pavel Priluchny (“Major”, “Border”, “At the Game”). The premiere of the film “Devyatayev” took place within the framework of the 43rd Moscow International Film Festival – the work of Bekmambetov and Trofimov became the opening film of the show. The tape was released on April 29th in wide theater distribution.
