The Mexico City metro accident caused by a “structural defect”

The Mexico City metro crash, which left 26 people dead on May 3, was caused by a “Structural defect”, according to the preliminary conclusions of an expert report made public on Wednesday.

“The accident was caused by a structural defect”, said Jesus Esteva, head of public works at the city hall of Mexico City, citing the conclusions of the report carried out at the request of the municipality by the Norwegian consulting firm DNV.
