Labor and Social Protection Minister Anton Kotyakov said that the ministry will consider the possibility of establishing a permanent day off on December 31 without increasing the total number of holidays.
“In the long term, if we make a decision on December 31, I think we will look for reserves within the already existing number of holidays, without increasing them,” the Izvestia newspaper quoted him as saying.
Earlier, Kotyakov reported that the New Year holidays in 2022 will last 10 days – from December 31, 2021 to January 9, 2022. At the same time, he pointed out that the Ministry of Labor will consider the possibility of making December 31 a day off “taking into account the nearest horizon.”
