Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank, said that phishing and telephone fraud remain the most common fraud schemes in Russia.
“Nothing fundamentally new has appeared. But there are definitely new scenarios of fooling, plunging into fears, fright and inventing new reliable versions,” the Izvestia newspaper quotes him.
According to him, in Russia as a whole there is a fairly high level of telephone fraud at the moment.
“And we are close to considering phone fraud a national disaster,” he added.
Sberbank experts have calculated that every tenth call to any telephone in the Russian Federation can be fraudulent. The average amount of damage from the actions of telephone swindlers is 8-10 thousand rubles.
