The Palestinian Red Crescent: hundreds of injuries in clashes at Al-Aqsa Mosque between the Israeli police and Palestinians

Jerusalem (CNN) – The Palestine Red Crescent Society announced, on Monday, the occurrence of at least 180 injuries in the clashes between the Israeli police and Palestinians in Al-Aqsa Mosque, pointing to the transfer of 80 wounded to hospitals.

For its part, the Israel Broadcasting Corporation stated in a report that “Dozens of youths fired fireworks and threw stones at police forces deployed at the entrances to the Temple Mount.”

And the Mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Lyon, had expressed “his support for the decision to ban Jewish visits to the Holy Mosque,” considering that “it is not tantamount to surrendering to Palestinian terrorism, but in terms of preserving the lives of people,” according to what was reported by the Israeli Authority.

“The source of the violence in the city is the incitement practiced by terrorist organizations and Arab citizens from the north of the country who are arriving in the city, not residents of the east of the capital,” Lion added, according to what the commission said in a radio interview Monday morning.
