Kyrgyzstan is not included in the top 20 destinations for Russian tourists, so a small segment will go there this summer, said Yuri Barzykin, vice president of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RST).
Thus, he commented on the fact that vaccinated tourists will be able to visit Kyrgyzstan without a PCR test.
According to the vice-president of the PCT, between Moscow and Bishkek, first of all, there is a business exchange, not a tourist one.
“Kyrgyzstan is not included in the top 20 among Russian tourists. Therefore, after the decision to accept vaccinated travelers, someone, of course, will go to Kyrgyzstan, but a small segment. Although the situation itself is positive and suggests that the number of available tourist destinations is gradually increasing, “Barzykin said on Thursday, June 10, in an interview with Izvestia.
The vice-president of the PCT also noted that Kyrgyzstan is not advanced in the Russian tourism market, and group tours to this country are not offered. In addition, there are logistical obstacles to visiting the country as well as infrastructure problems.
“From the CIS countries, Uzbekistan has actively begun to represent itself as a tourist destination. All these states are interesting in their own way, but few people in Russia know about this. Therefore, Kyrgyzstan is an underutilized potential, I hope that in the future it will be in demand, ”concluded Barzykin.
On June 7, the Azerbaijani authorities decided to allow a number of categories of Russian tourists to visit the country from June 10. So, Russians who enter the republic must present a document confirming that they have completed a full vaccination against COVID-19 or have recovered from infection, as well as a negative PCR test for coronavirus, taken no later than 72 hours before the flight.
It is noted that a special permit from the headquarters, which had to be obtained to enter Azerbaijan, will no longer be required.
