The Prime Minister of Armenia is ready to exchange his son for prisoners of war

Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan offered Azerbaijan to exchange his son for prisoners of war, days before the country’s parliamentary elections.

The 46-year-old prime minister said today, Wednesday, during an election event, that Pashinyan assigned the committees concerned to officially transfer his proposal.

“Don’t get me wrong: this is not the only tool to solve the problem,” he added.

In turn, Pashinyan’s son wrote on the social networking site “Facebook” that he was ready to do so.

Armenia accuses Azerbaijan of not releasing all prisoners of war, more than six months after the end of the recent clashes between the two countries over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, despite numerous exchanges of prisoners between the two rivals.

Azerbaijan replies that it has fulfilled its obligations in accordance with the agreement, claiming that it does not include the soldiers sent by Armenia to “Azerbaijan territory” after the end of the fighting.
