The Russian Premier League (RPL) has entered the top five European championships in terms of the number of representatives at the European football championship, according to the specialized portal Sportskeeda.
RPL at the upcoming competitions will represent 32 players, 22 of whom play for the Russian national team. Four legionnaires from our championship represent Sweden (Christoffer Olsson, Viktor Klasson, Markus Berg – all Krasnodar, Jordan Larsson – Spartak), two – Croatia (Zenit player Dejan Lovren and CSKA midfielder Nikola Vlasic), two – Poland (Maciej Rybus , Grzegorz Krychowiak – both Lokomotiv), as well as Spartak Alex Kral (Czech Republic) and Quincy Promes (Netherlands).
The English Premier League has the largest number of Euro representatives – 118 players. Next come the championships of Germany (90 players), Italy (70) and Spain (39). In total, athletes from 42 leagues will take part in the tournament. The Champions League finalists Manchester City and Chelsea (15 each) lead the list of clubs with the most players.
The day before, the CIES Football Observatory also presented an updated rating of the most expensive footballers of the leading European championships at the moment. The new leader of the list is Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden (€ 190.2 million). Together with him, the top three included two representatives of Manchester United – Mason Greenwood (178 million) and Marcus Rashford (159.1 million). The top 15 also includes: Erling Holland (155.5 million), Bruno Fernandes (154.3), Frenkie de Jong (138.7), Pedri (133.2), Alfonso Davis (131.6), João Felish (127.8), Mason Mount (123.6), Jadon Sancho (120.8), Kylian Mbappe (118.3), Ferran Torres (118), Kai Havertz (116.5) and Trent Alexander-Arnold ( 115).
Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo may leave the club in the summer offseason. According to foreign media reports, representatives of the Portuguese are in talks with PSG, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
