The United Arab Emirates hosted the 35th meeting of the “CIP” International Committee for the Quality of the Arms and Ammunition Industry, based in the Belgian capital, Brussels, and its membership includes / 14 / countries.

Abu Dhabi Police, “represented in the Security Affairs and Ports Sector,” took over the presidency of the committee at the meeting that was held in the French city of Lyon in 2018. Hungarian chairs the next session of the Committee’s work until it hosts the main meeting of the Committee in 2023.

Brigadier Khamis Rashid Al Kaabi, Director of the Forensic Evidence Department, head of the delegation, explained that the United Arab Emirates fulfilled all the requirements and equipped the ballistic laboratories when preparing to join the CIP Committee to inspect the quality of weapons and ammunition in 2008, and those efforts resulted in the UAE joining as a permanent member of the Committee in In 2010, he noted that the United Arab Emirates is the only member and representative in Asia, Africa and the Middle East in this committee.

He stated that since the Abu Dhabi Police Quality Inspection Center for Weapons and Ammunition was approved under the directives of the Director of the Security and Ports Affairs Sector, it has spared no effort to implement security and safety procedures for the manufacture of weapons and ammunition in the country in order to ensure the safety and security of its users, which comes primarily from the objectives of the Permanent Committee.
