The United States has allocated another $ 150 million in security assistance to Ukraine. This was stated on Friday by the press secretary of the US Defense Department John Kirby at a regular briefing for journalists, Trend reports with reference to TASS.
“Today, the Pentagon announced a new $ 150 million aid package to strengthen Ukraine’s security,” he said. According to him, this is in addition to a similar aid package in the amount of $ 125 million allocated to this country in March due to the fact that “Ukraine has made sufficient progress in carrying out defense reforms this year.”
The new package of assistance includes, in particular, the supply of anti-artillery radars, anti-UAV systems, means of ensuring safe communications and means for medical evacuation of the wounded. Kirby said that since 2014, the United States has provided assistance to Ukraine to strengthen its security by $ 2.5 billion, and will also continue to “provide lethal assistance to strengthen its defenses.”
