On Thursday, the Yemeni army announced the deaths and injuries of the Houthi “Ansar Allah” group, as a result of battles in the Ma’rib Governorate, northeast of Yemen.
The Yemeni Ministry of Defense stated, through its media center, that “the army forces targeted Houthi groups that were trying to infiltrate towards military sites on the fronts of Al-Mashreif, Jabal Murad, and Rahba, south of Marib, and forced them to flee, after the deaths and injuries in their ranks.”
“The army’s artillery bombarded Houthi reinforcements in separate locations on the Sirwah fronts, west of Marib, and inflicted losses on them in life and equipment,” she said.
On the other hand, the Houthis’ Al-Masirah TV reported that the Arab coalition carried out two air raids on the Murad Mountain District, south of Marib, and targeted with 6 other raids the Nata District, north of Al-Bayda, which resulted in casualties.
Last Saturday, the government forces announced that they had taken control of areas and sites in the southern front of the Marib governorate, including the sites of Al-Kharfa in Hayd Al Ahmad in the Rahba district, and other areas in the Al-Mashreif front separating the governorates of Ma`rib and Al-Bayda, according to the Yemeni Ministry of Defense website.
Since the beginning of last February, Marib Governorate has witnessed fierce battles between the Yemeni army and the Houthi group, after the group launched a desperate military campaign to control the city, which is the last stronghold of the internationally recognized government forces in northern and central Yemen.
