Former US President Donald Trump said Monday that the “big lie” is the results of the 2020 presidential election, not his false claims that he actually beat President Joe Biden.
“The fraudulent presidential election of 2020 will be known from now on as the big lie,” Trump added in an email to his supporters.
It is noteworthy that election experts and voting officials said that the 2020 elections are the most free, fair and secure in the history of the United States, and that they witnessed a record turnout in the vote.
Many judges have also rejected legal cases filed by Trump’s legal team alleging conspiracy theories about fraudulent voting machines and ballot box stuffing in important states such as Georgia, Arizona and Pennsylvania.
Yet Republicans, albeit some of them who had distanced themselves from him due to his insistence on stealing the elections, used Trump’s baseless claims to justify placing new restrictions on voting.
