Ukraine simply has no desire to fulfill the Minsk Agreements, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview shown on the air of the Russia-24 TV channel on Wednesday.
Speaking about the relationship between Kiev and Donbass, the President of Russia pointed out: “It is not ours, not my whim, for the Kiev authorities to talk with the people of Donbass. It is written in the Minsk agreements, and under them are the signatures of the unrecognized republics – LPR and DPR. Moreover, the then Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko insisted that the signatures of the leaders of these two unrecognized republics be put. “
“And now the Kiev authorities do not want to talk to them,” he added. “The current Kiev authorities simply have no desire to fulfill the Minsk agreements.”
Putin noted that the leaders of the LPR and DPR did not want to put their signatures on the above-mentioned agreements. “We had to do quite a lot of work with them, and we convinced them that it was expedient, it should be done,” he added.
The head of state recalled that later the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, was killed. “They killed a man, the leader of one of the republics. And silence! Nobody immediately remembers this,” he complained.
