Police in the Altai Territory opened a criminal case on the death of a herd of 53 horses, which were shot by unknown persons in the Petropavlovsk region. This was reported to TASS on Tuesday by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Altai Territory.
“A resident of the Alekseevka village of the Petropavlovsk district turned to the police department with a statement that 53 horses belonging to him were found dead. The horses were shot. An order was given to create a specialized investigative and operational group. At present, police officers are conducting a series of operational and search measures aimed at to establish all the circumstances of the incident. All necessary examinations and studies have been assigned, “the press service said.
It was established that the horses grazed between the villages of Solonovka and Kamyshenka. The case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Intentional destruction or damage to other people’s property”). The head of the Altai police, Andrei Podolyan, put the investigation under control.
