Let us repeat: we are for legal methods, and connecting bypassing the electric meter and other “bugs” is a gross offense. Moreover, there are reserves for savings even without such clumsy work. There are exactly two principles by which you can save on paying for “communal”: to remove the unnecessary and optimize the necessary.
Getting rid of rudiments
The first thing to look out for when looking at your monthly billing is services that you haven’t used for a long time. For example, a collective antenna: many have long switched to watching TV channels on the Internet, some have no TV at all in their apartments, and they take 245 rubles a month for an antenna regularly. You can disable this service by contacting the provider’s office – this is either Rostelecom or (in parts of the south of Moscow) Akado. The application can also be written remotely.
The situation is similar with the radio point. If you do not use it, the radio point can be turned off (which millions of Muscovites have already done) – this can only be done in person, at the operator’s office at the address: Usievich Street, 18, building A. The service to turn off the radio point is paid (61 rubles 2 kopecks. ), that is, goodbye radio operators will charge you about half of the monthly tariff for wired radio (122 rubles 70 kopecks). If we succeed in making such a decision, then the garbage chute is welded up, and we stop servicing it. But you can completely remove it only during a major overhaul. Considering that the price of the issue is rarely more than 100 rubles a month, very few people managed to achieve general agreement on such an “amputation”. But there is a possibility!
Silver age residents have more rights
The next opportunity: to use one of the benefits for paying for “communal”. They are allocated to approximately 3.5 million Muscovites who are included in 50 categories of beneficiaries. Of the most widespread: non-working pensioners over 70 years old pay 50% of the contribution for major repairs, over 80 years old – do not pay this contribution at all, provided that only non-working pensioners are registered in the apartment. The moral is simple: if possible, we leave only the older generation registered in the apartment – and we get a benefit.
Many younger Muscovites have 50 percent discounts on payments for overhaul: labor veterans (from 55 years old for women and from 60 years old for men), veterans of military service and combatants of the same age, Chernobyl victims. True, there is one limitation: the discount is applied not to the entire area of the apartment, as in the case of the oldest owners, but to the social norm of 33 sq. m, if one person is registered in the apartment, 42 sq. m – if two, 18 sq. m – with three or more registered. So here the algorithm turns out to be the opposite: to register everyone who can be in the apartment so that a large area fits into the social norm.
– They constantly scare that they will go and check whether people live by registration, – said the interlocutor of MK from Tushinskiy Zhilishchnik. – But so far this is not the case, if there are no signals about the hostel or the asocial behavior of the residents. Within the family, no one really cares about who is registered where. Another thing that needs to be considered is whether this benefit will be covered by additional charges based on the number of tenants.
Almost the same rules apply not only to overhaul, but also to the rest of the communal apartment: pensioners over 70 have a half discount on almost the entire receipt (if the younger family members are not registered with them in the apartment). The policy is the same here.
– There is also a subsidy for housing and communal services, – told “MK” an employee of the capital EIRTs. – It is credited to low-income families along with a number of other “goodies”. To receive it, the official per capita income must be less than the subsistence level. So, people “draw” such an income for themselves and go for a subsidy like the poor. You should have seen what kind of cars they sometimes drive. But from this year, a check on bank accounts is introduced – if a family has a million in banks, conditionally, they will not give a subsidy.
Three-rate counter is beneficial for idlers
The main utilities – electricity and water – are supplied to most Moscow apartments by meter. Let’s start with electricity: it has been fashionable for many years to install two- or even three-tariff meters, which, as they explain to us, can significantly save on electricity bills. But there is a nuance here: multi-tariff meters please your wallet only if you are ready to greatly revise your daily life practices. Namely, the majority of energy-intensive operations should be performed from 23.00 to 7.00.
“Sometimes they call me to check why the meter was changed to a more profitable one, the total energy consumption remains the same, but you pay more money,” says Ivan, an employee of Mosenergosbyt. – I have to explain: with a one-rate meter, you pay 5 rubles 66 kopecks per kilowatt-hour round the clock (the tariff for houses with gas. – “MK”), 17 to 21 hours) pay 6 rubles 79 kopecks! Yes, at this time, everyone is burning electricity, because microwave ovens, stoves, lights, TVs, vacuum cleaners, a drill (nail the shelf). In fact, only the washing machine and dishwasher can be easily left overnight, at a cheap rate, the rest, willy-nilly, do at the most expensive.
It turned out that it is not difficult to return to a single-rate meter. Of course, the old counter with a rotating disk will not be returned to you, but modern devices can also be programmed for a single-rate mode of operation. To do this, you need to submit an application to the resource supplying company.
Now for the water. It is still possible not to install a meter here, but the tariff system is built in such a way that it is not profitable to do so. Judge for yourself: without an apartment meter, you will have to pay your share of the common house “shrinkage and waste” of water. That is, the difference between general and individual meters is spread over all users who do not have individual meters. And there are fewer of them every year. Moreover, if you have the technical ability to put a meter, and you are stubborn, a coefficient of 1.5 is provided for this to an already considerable amount. If you are not doing some kind of production related to running water at home, the meter gives immediate savings.
Expenses increase refrigerator and electric kettle
Next is the line of “in-house equipment”. If you live in a gasified home, there are several specific savings points. Firstly, the kettle: yes, the electric boils faster and turns itself off. But the classic one – on the burner with a whistle – can remove up to 1000 rubles from your payment every month. This is especially true for those who work from home, and a day, accordingly, the kettle is boiled many times.
– To take or not to take a gas oven during repairs – this must be considered, – Valentin, a repairman for gas stoves at Mosgaz, told MK. – On the one hand, it will be expensive to install: the gas oven itself is more expensive than an electric one, and connecting the second fitting with welding will cost no less than 20 thousand rubles. On the other hand, if the hostess bakes a lot, this can be fought back in a couple of years.
So, an electric oven, an electric kettle … What other consumers are especially “eating” in the kitchen? Microwave – yes: if you save money, you can reheat food in the “old-fashioned” way, on a gas stove. But let’s agree that many are uncomfortable. A dishwasher, on the other hand, consumes electricity, but saves time and water. But it consumes electricity: if you save a lot, then switching to washing under running water (just carefully, otherwise the bill for the water supply will “fly away”) allows, in the case of a family of 4 people, to save 500-700 rubles a month.
“That’s how much I saved when the dishwasher broke down at some point,” says Muscovite Anastasia Isupova. – At first I was surprised why the payment suddenly “fell in price”, and then I compared the readings and realized that it was saving on the dishwasher. And if you remember how the cost of consumables for her has risen now … In general, we fixed it, but now we use it only for general dinners on weekends. We do not launch it on weekdays.
A constant, necessary waste of electricity stands in the kitchen corner – and the older the refrigerator, the more it consumes kilowatt-hours. The record holders here are the Soviet mastodons of the ZIL-Moscow type: their power is more than 200 W, while modern devices “eat” less than a hundred. Imagine that you have a large old chandelier made of incandescent lamps on and off around the clock – roughly the same effect from a refrigerator. Of course, the purchase of a new device cannot be discouraged with such savings, but if the plans are worth replacing, make up your mind, the savings will be a pleasant bonus. And no, at the dacha it is also not worth connecting it to the network (especially since the dacha tariff is frankly merciless for garden partnerships in the Moscow region).
Turn off unnecessary appliances when leaving
In other rooms, there are also devices that work around the clock: a router, someone has a “smart home” system, it happens that an electric “warm floor”. Leaving for a few days – turn off all unnecessary, no, but savings. By the way, this also applies to computers that many do not turn off even at night: a stationary PC consumes the same 200-300 W as an old refrigerator. So, what’s the point of running it around the clock if, of course, you don’t have an important server at home with the data you need at any time of the day?
“Air conditioning is one of the most powerful consumers,” an engineer at a company that installs household climate control systems told MK. – Some people wonder why their energy consumption doubles in summer: it is from the operation of the air conditioner on hot days. You can save money here only by turning off the air conditioner when it is possible, for example, when leaving for work. The system will cool the room again in 10-15 minutes, moreover, it can be turned on remotely, through the “smart home”, and turned on 15 minutes before coming home from work.
And finally, lighting. There shouldn’t be any surprises here: energy-saving lamps (“lumiki”, already outgoing nature, and modern LED lamps) are called so precisely because they consume several times less electricity than incandescent lamps. However, modern lamps are also several times more expensive, and, alas, they burn out, alas, not as rarely as it is written in the advertisement.
– The general rule is this: the main loss of life for LED and fluorescent lamps occurs when they are switched on and off, – says Ivan, an electrician from the Taldom district of the Moscow region. – So, where you turn on the light for a couple of minutes, for example, in the closet, you can leave Ilyich’s light bulb, and where the lamp is constantly on, we introduce an LED lamp.
Finally, the two best friends of household people from among the plumbing fixtures are the toilet bowl (more precisely, its cistern) and aerators (water flow dividers that stand at the end of all modern taps). A tank malfunction can literally result in an extra thousand rubles a month, and with installed aerators, the water consumption for washing or washing dishes decreases several times. If the mesh is completely clogged and does not let through, just unscrew the aerator and shake out the debris.
