‘Wild 24 hours’ in Gippsland as floods hit

Gippsland MP Darren Chester has spoken to Sky News from his electorate which has been inundated by heaving rains leading to floods.

An evacuation notice has been issued for residents near the Traralgon Creek in Gippsland due to rapidly rising flood waters after Victoria was lashed with wild winds and heavy rain overnight.

Anyone living near the Traralgon Creek in Traralgon has been urged to seek higher ground because they and their properties are currently in danger.

“It’s been a wild 24 hours in Gippsland, in fact right across large parts of regional Victoria,” Mr Chester told Sky News.
