The Brazilian women’s team is concentrated in San Pietro de Pinatar, Spain, training for the dispute of two friendlies, against Russia, this Friday, and Canada, on Monday. The two games are part of the preparation for the Olympics, which start on July 21, in a match against China.

The team’s coach, Pia Sundhage, spoke about the match against Russia. ”It is a very organized team and will be a tough opponent. They play really hard. The fact that they are well organized helps us apply our speed and speed up the game, because if the connections are faster, we can break this defensive organization,” he declared.
For the coach, the two matches will already serve to build the team that should start at the Olympic Games, but reserve players will also play an important role.
”We want to find cohesion in the team, so we intend to use similar starters against Russia and Canada. The most interesting thing is who will come from the bench, because this will be the player who will change the face of the match and that will be very important in the Olympics,” he said.
Brazil will face Russia this Friday, at 4 pm (GMT). On Monday, it’s Canada’s turn, at the same time.
