About $765 million worth of Russian assets have already been confiscated in Ukraine, and there are plans to forcibly seize more than 900 state-owned assets. This was announced by the President of Ukraine on Friday Vladimir Zelensky.
“Today I held a meeting on the sanctions policy, the confiscation of Russian assets. As officials reported, assets worth 28 billion hryvnias ($765 million) have already been seized in Ukraine. This work is ongoing. More than 900 more objects belonging specifically to the Russian state have been proposed to be confiscated. And if we evaluate package of property not only of the state, but also of its residents, then we are talking about 36,000 positions subject to withdrawal,” Zelensky said in a video message posted on the Telegram channel of his press service.
Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal reported that the Cabinet of Ministers proposes to the president to confiscate “903 objects of Russian property”, of which 79 positions are corporate rights, 824 – property.
