President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin does not bluff when he speaks of his readiness to use all means available in the arsenal to protect the country, the Czech President believes Milos Zeman. According to the owner of Prague Castle, this indicates the readiness of the Russian leadership to use nuclear weapons.
“I used to think rationally. That is why I argued that Russia is not attacking Ukraine. It was irrational. However, unfortunately, Russian policy is becoming more and more irrational. That is why I no longer dare to assert that the deterrence of nuclear weapons [со стороны руководства РФ] is just a bluff. After all, Putin himself in his speech clearly said: “I am not bluffing,” Zeman said in an interview published on Friday by the newspaper Mlada Fronta Dnes.
According to the President of the Czech Republic, after joining the Russian Federation the republics of Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, in the event of an enemy attack on them, Russia can use nuclear weapons, which is consistent with the country’s nuclear doctrine. At the same time, Zeman said that the results of these referendums will not be recognized abroad, as there is force pressure on the inhabitants of the regions.
